About Nutrition with Kie
Founded by Registered Dietitian (RD) Kierra Brown, Nutrition with Kie, is a website dedicated to helping families make healthy lifestyle changes.
Providing you with science-based blog posts, downloadable goodies, and simple nutritious recipes, we are making nutrition a little less complicated.
There will always be questions and challenges about food and nutrition. Which is why the expert advice of a Registered Dietitian comes in handy! A RD has the education, training, experience and research skills to give you factual information about food and nutrition.
Hello! My name is Kierra and I am a registered dietitian (RD). A What? RD. This means I have completed course work in dietetics, 1200 supervised practice hours, passed the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s exam AND maintain continuing education credits.
I completed the coordinated program at Rutgers University in which I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I completed my Master of Science degree in Food and Nutrition at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout my nutrition journey, I have interned and worked in various settings including hospitals, adult daycares, foodservice, private practice and nonprofit organizations. I have educated people of all ages, from kindergarteners to seniors on healthy eating, food preparation and other nutrition-related topics.
I am passionate about helping others and I love working with children and teenagers to teach them the many great things about food and nutrition.
I am an avid sneaker wearer, novice cook, Disney fanatic and theme park junkie. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, researching nutrition, trying new recipes and spending time with my family and friends.
